Can I go swimming with a spray tan?
Yes, you can go swimming with a spray tan--it is NOT all going to wash off in one dip...but it may not last as many days. Swimming in a pool for extended periods of time will fade your spray tan. Most pools use chlorine to keep the pool water fresh and germ free. While we love germ free, chlorine is bleach and can be harsh on your skin and fade your spray tan. If you go swimming, keep your dips short and rinse off with fresh water when you get out of the pool. Salt water is better than chlorine in pool water, but it will still fade a sunless tan if you are in the water for extended periods of time. So, if you are heading to the ocean and you know that you want to scuba dive or snorkel, plan for those activities to happen later into your vacation and not the first days that you are there. This way your spray tan has faded a bit and your natural suntan has taken over so that the water isn’t going to affect it as much. And remember: a hot tub is like the kiss of death to a spray tan. Soaking in hot bubbling chlorinated water? No thanks, not on your tan please. This is one of the ways that we recommend to remove your spray tan.
Keep these tips in mind to help your color last when on vacation:
What color depth should I choose?
It's best to start with a MEDIUM color depth; This is usually the most natural-looking tan for your skin type.
The darker you choose to tan, the longer your tan will last, but the more maintenance it requires as you fade out. If you choose a DARK or BRONZED PLUS color depth, we recommend you purchase a Touch-Up Spray so that you can touch-up areas that fade out first.

Should I try a trial tan before my special event?
Yes, we recommend you make an appointment at least 2 weeks before your special event if you have never had a spray tan before. This is why we offer a New Customer Package, so that you can have one test tan. The hardest decision is choosing the color depth appropriate for your skin type and event. We can spray everyone with the same solution, and everyone will turn a different color, because everyone is starting at a different natural skin level and everyone's natural pigment will pull a different tone. We strive for customer satisfaction, and it is important that you provide us with honest feedback the day after your tan, so that we can make adjustments to customize your spray tan for your individual skin and we can also make important suggestions for your next spray appointment.
A spray tan is in it's fullest bloom 48 hours after application. Keep in mind that it take 12 hours for your skin to completely finish developing, so it is NOT a good idea to get a spray tan the day of your event. Ideally, you should make your appointment time a day or two before your event. For example: if you have a Saturday wedding, make all your manicure, pedicure, wax or threading appointments for Wednesday or Thursday first, then make your spray tan appointment for Thursday evening. If you are going on a vacation, we do NOT recommend you travel while wearing tan solution. Make your spray tan appointment at least 12 hours before you begin your vacation travel.
Yes! We spray pregnant women on a regular basis, and we offer an organic solution option. However it is important to talk to your physician and get approval first. All women are different, check with your doctor to make sure that you can get a spray tan. Some pregnant women have special needs or suddenly develop sensitive skin, and only your doctor can tell you for sure if self-tanning products are specifically safe for you.
Tanning is completely compatible with breastfeeding and will not alter the milk whatsoever. There is no record of any dangers to the breastfed baby in relation to spray tanning. However, you must shower off tanning solution before feeding your baby, or the baby will be tanned as well. We recommend the Quick Rinse solution which develops in 1-4 hours. Also you should use nipple covers or choose NOT to spray your chest area.
Absolutely not!
You must avoid water during the entire time the solution is developing on your skin! Keep in mind that perspiration and saliva are water too. While the solution is processing on your skin, you can NOT do things like wash your hands, lick your lips, work-out and sweat. Water stops the activation process and you will develop lighter in the areas that get wet. If it is raining the day of your appointment, please bring an umbrella or dress appropriately to avoid the rain. Also, plan your day to shower according to recommended development times.
We offer 2 solution options: 8-12 Hour Premium Solution or 1-4 Hour Quick Rinse Solution.
